Grilled pork is a relatively easy dish to prepare. Pork chops are tasty even if it is only prepared with salt and pepper. For the more adventurous ones, creating a marinade and a adding in a handful of other ingredients also adds taste and flair to the rather simple piece of pork chops. This recipe is easy to prepare. Almost all of the ingredients are easily accessible from a local grocery shop.

Creating a marinade is an exciting way of adding taste to pork. There are a variety of spices to choose from depending on the taste that you want to achieve. Experimenting on this aspect is fun, and also creates a lot of improvisation.

As a starter, this dish can be prepared in about five minutes and it only takes around 10 minutes to cook. However, there is a varied difference when it comes to marinating the pork chops. Most will say that letting the pork chops rest with the marinade for at least an hour is good enough. However, there are those who believe that marinating the pork overnight allows the marinade to seep in deep into the meat which in turn creates a more juicy and flavorful result.

If you plan to cook the pork chops for dinner, you better marinate it in the morning before going to work. This gives the meat a lot of time to mix in with the marinade for a tastier result.

6 half-inch pork chops, preferably with bone not removed
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon grounded cumin
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
½ teaspoon red pepper
¼ cup honey
freshly ground black pepper

The first thing to prepare here is the marinade. Using a small bowl, combine the vinegar, red pepper, honey, vinegar and oil. Whisk it until all the ingredients are properly mixed. Next is to sprinkle both sides of the pork chops with pepper and salt. Put the pork chops in a container, preferably a re-sealable plastic bag, along with the marinade and let it sit for at least an hour. This last step depends on how you want the pork chops to taste, or the time you have at hand. Just remember that the longer the marinade sits, the tastier and juicier the meat will be.

Put a grill or grilling pan over medium heat. Remove the marinated pork chops from the container and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper. Cook one side of the pork chops for about four minutes or until the desired consistency is achieved. Flip it over and cook the other side for about the same time as well.

When a grilling pan is used, make sure that you don’t steam the pork chops as it will result in a drier meat. If a grilling pan is not available, a simple pan can be used as an alternative.
